This past week, Bread of Hope had the privilege of hosting a Wayuu Pastors Conference in La Guajira, Colombia. Dozens of Wayuu church leaders gathered for a time of teaching, encouragement, and fellowship as we explored foundational biblical principles for church leadership.
Pastor Brian Peterson of Lebanon Baptist Church and Chris Anderson of Church Works Media led sessions on the role of elders and deacons, basic ecclesiology, and the importance of faithfully teaching Scripture in the local church. These discussions sparked meaningful conversations about biblical leadership and how to strengthen the Wayuu church for God’s glory.
As these pastors and leaders return to their communities, they carry with them a renewed vision for biblical leadership, the tools to teach the Gospel, and a deeper commitment to making disciples who will, in turn, train others. We trust that God will use this conference to build up His church among the Wayuu people, ensuring that the gospel is faithfully preached for generations to come.
