2025: A Year of Open Doors Among the Wayuu

As we look back on 2025, we do so with grateful hearts. This year has been marked by open doors, doors God Himself has opened among the Wayuu people of La Guajira. Throughout the year, we have seen God’s Word take root, His church grow stronger, and indigenous leaders rise to serve their own communities with faith and conviction.

One of the most significant milestones of 2025 was the completion of the Old Testament Audio Bible in Wayuunaiki. Through a partnership with Davar Audio Bibles, God made it possible for the Scriptures to be recorded in the heart language of the Wayuu people. For families, churches, and entire communities, especially in an oral-learning culture, this means God’s Word can now be heard clearly, understood deeply, and shared widely.

This year also marked an important step forward in leadership development among Wayuu churches. Eleven Wayuu pastors and leaders graduated from our Sembradores Bible and Ministry Training Program, equipped with biblical tools to make disciples and teach God’s Word faithfully. We are witnessing the rise of indigenous leadership—men grounded in Scripture, called by God, and prepared to lead the Wayuu church from within.

Our summer months were filled with service, fellowship, and gospel-centered ministry. Alongside short-term mission teams, we served hundreds of people through eye clinics, children’s carnivals, and times of prayer. Beyond the numbers, the most lasting impact was relational and spiritual: families were encouraged, God’s Word was shared, and local churches were strengthened through meaningful partnerships.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful fruits of this year has been seeing Wayuu believers step forward to serve their own communities. Churches are organizing outreach efforts. Leaders are caring for their neighbors. The baton is being passed, and the indigenous church is growing stronger in the gospel.

None of this would be possible without you.

To every prayer partner, every giver, and every friend who has walked with us, thank you! Your faithful support has helped make these stories possible, and your partnership continues to bear fruit in ways both seen and unseen.

As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with hope and confidence, trusting that the God who began this work will carry it forward. Please continue to pray with us that God’s Word would be heard, believed, and lived out in every Wayuu community.
